It is estimated that stiff person syndrome has a prevalence of around one out of one million. However, the exact figure is still unknown due to misdiagnosis and underdiagnosis. Scientists have found out that the condition does not primarily happen in any ethnic or racial group. The age of onset can vary, ranging from 30 to 60 years old. Most cases can be found in those who are in their 40s. [10]
